Abdullah Al Hour AFBCI
Abdullah Al Hour has had 12 years of experience in Business Continuity and Recovery Services across several industries. He is the Resiliency Services Consultant in IBM Saudi Arabia. In this role he leads projects within the area of Business Continuity, IT Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management and Testing.
Abdullah has worked with several organizations around the Middle East region, establishing and maintaining Business Continuity and Management programs and governance structures. As part of these programs, he has designed and implemented the business continuity life cycle; Business Impact Analysis, Risk Assessment, Business Continuity Strategy, Plans Development, Testing, Awareness, Recovery Sites and BCM Software Tools. His responsibilities included managing teams and vendors across several geographies to build, sustain, and enhance BCM programs to make them essential to the organizations.
Abdullah has published a book titled “Business Continuity Management - Choosing to survive” the book shows how to systematically prepare business, not only for the unthinkable, but also for smaller incidents which, if left unattended, could well lead to major disasters. He also works closely with publishing houses to review manuscripts of business continuity books prior to publishing.
Abdullah delivered several sessions at the BCI’s BCM World Conferences. He has joined the Business Continuity Institute in 2007 and has progressed to become an Associate Fellow of the BCI (AFBCI). Abdullah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
Reginald Atta-Kesson MBCI
Reginald is a Senior Manager in PwC with over 14 years’ experience and responsible for PwC Africa’s Business Continuity programme covering – Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria in the west; to Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda in the east; Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe further south; and Mauritius out in the Indian Ocean.
Reginald led the firm in implementing and attaining certification of their BCMS to the then BS 25999-2:2007 and successfully converted and recertified to the ISO 22301:2012.
He is a Lead Auditor in ISO 22301 and a Member of the BCI. He also holds an MSc. in Information Systems and BSc. (Hon) in Business Decision Sciences from the University of Hertfordshire.
Adam Barrett MBCI
Sungard Availability Services
A Business Continuity Consultant for Sungard Availability Services, Adam has previously worked in Business Continuity within Financial Services, Broadcast, Telecommunications and Retail organisations. He holds an MSc in Risk Analysis from King’s College London and is a representative on the BCI's Global Members Council.
Ian Clark FBCI
Ian is a highly motivated and experienced Business Continuity Management practitioner with extensive practical experience of the necessary disciplines and roles essential in developing and delivering a holistic Business Continuity Management programme across multiple industry sectors in many countries encompassing diverse cultures.
A member of the Business Continuity Institute, the global organisation for the Business Continuity practitioner, since 1996 and elevated to Fellow of the Institute in 1998. He was an elected Director of the BCI from December 2002 until December 2006 and during his tenure held positions on the Executive Management Board of the Institute and as the Chair of the Standards and Compliance committee. He still actively participates in the development and proofing of International BCM related standards. Ian is the incumbent Chairman of the Global Membership Council of the BCI.
He has supplied consultancy services in many business sectors and at all levels within organisations ranging from multi-national businesses and Governments to small or medium sized organisations. He continually strives to achieve a balance within organisations by aligning operational management of tactical activities to current and future strategic business needs. A proponent of the active integration of Risk Management and Business Continuity Management techniques throughout the organisational supply chain in developing a resilient and balanced continuity programme that is both effective and maintainable that suits the organisation’s operational needs and culture.
He is the Principal of 4Thought Associates; an organisation dedicated to assisting organisations achieve a high level of resilience and Business Continuity Management capability through active partnership at strategic, operational and tactical levels.
Michael Crooymans CBCI
Michael, originally from New Zealand, has been involved with Business Critical systems (Tandem / HP NonStop) since 1985. Michael joined Sogeti in 1989 and by 2003 he had developed himself to the position of BCM Consultant – a subject about which he is very passionate. Michael has helped many companies to implement and/or improve their BCM capability. Due to his IT background he is also occasionally involved in IT Service Continuity assignments.
Michael passed the DRII and CBCI exams with merit in 2005 and 2015 respectively. He has been affiliate member of the BCI since 2011 and is currently completing his MBCI application.
Since presenting at the BCI conference in London in 2012 he has actively been involved with the promotion and development of BCM in the Netherlands. Initially assisting with the BC Café and soon thereafter as a member of the BCI-NL Forum core team. As well as helping set up the BCI BE/NE Chapter he is also the leader of 2 of the work groups and represents the BCI-NL Forum at the NEN BCM standards commission and is involved development of new standards. Michael also represents the BE/NE chapter at the BCI Group Membership Council. In this role he also reviews updates to the GPG, training courses and acts as judge for various BCI awards. He won the 2015 BCI European Award: Continuity and Resilience Professional (Private Sector) and was shortlisted for the Global Award.
Ola Kherfan MBCI
Ola has been a business continuity practitioner since 2006 and she is a certified member with the BCI.
Ola was involved in establishing the Business Continuity Management (BCM) programme for the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and was responsible for managing and delivering the BCM programme for the Group as well as supporting the Crisis Management Teams and taking part in the scenario based exercises. Additionally, Ola has worked with several other organisations in the Middle East region, including Arab Bank where her responsibilities included establishing the BCM programme for Arab Bank's international locations.
Ola has been recognised for her achievements by her current employer and selected for the NBAD Leadership “Professional Banker programme”, and as part of the next stage in her career development plan she has joined Group Internal Audit in January 2016, and is currently working as an Associate Director within the Operations and Shared Services Audit team.
Belinda Wilson MBCI
Belinda Wilson is a Senior Director and Practice Lead at Gartner, where she is responsible for the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery consulting practice.
She is a distinguished expert in her field with over twenty years of expertise helping clients minimize their operational risks, meet their recovery and continuity requirements, and develop comprehensive business continuity and IT disaster recovery management programs. Her most recent experience includes the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide BCM governance program, conducted a BIA for a large hospital, managed the RFP process to select a DR service provider, and conducted a number of BC/DR assessments for clients in the financial, healthcare, energy and retail industries.
She has authored a number of industry white papers including “Is Corporate Ready for a Chief Continuity Officer,” “Which Came First — Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery,” and “Corporate Governance and Business Continuity.” She also published book forwards for the Business Continuity & HIPAA - Business Continuity Management in the Healthcare Environment (Rothstein) and Business Continuity Planning - A Step-by-Step Guide (Fullmer).
Ms. Wilson is a certified member (MBCI) of the Business Continuity Institute and a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) from DRII. She currently serves on the Executive Council of DRJ, Board Member of the Business Continuity Institute – US Chapter, BCI Global Membership Committee member, and a member of ACP San Diego. Ms. Wilson is the former Vice-Chair of DRII, founder/past president of the Business Recovery Manager’s Association (BRMA), past President of ACP Northern California, member of the Financial Services Technology Consortium BC Committee, and past member of the Advisory Council of Contingency Insights. Ms. Wilson was inducted into the CPM Hall of Fame for the Vendor Practitioner Award. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Applications & Systems and resides in San Diego, CA.
